On Tuesday, February 4, Verkeersnet.nl hosted the Big “Big Data” Congress. TrafficQuest helped with the organisation (photo!). At the congress, various presentations gave examples of how Big Data affects research and practical applications in traffic and transport. Also, issues like privacy and the expertise needed to deal with large amounts of data were discussed. The congress showed that Big Data has a lot of potential in traffic and transport. It also showed that we need more time to figure out how we can show which applications are the most valuable.
